Jaded Hotel Report Swisshotel Istanbul
2009
Very bright, overlooking the pool and the city. There was someone smoking near me though - leaked through the vents.
Bed - A – comforter good and pillows soft
TV – A- – good basic selection, but not excellent, esp. in English.
Spa – A+
Internet – A+ wireless and regular
Room service – A+ - very fresh, and served exactly on time
Towels – A++ - big, thick and soft, and lots of them
Bath amenities – A+ - smelled nice, and good portions
Bath layout – A+ - large and clean, plenty of room, everything you need.
Safe – A+ = large enough for computer storage
Light = A+ in the corner room
Concierge – was helpful with the dinner reservation – I’d say A
Restaurants in the hotel – tried the Japanese and the main dining room, the Swiss fondue place and the lounge. Generally pretty expensive, but the service was very good in Swiss place. Not so good in the lounge. Slow. But the big restaurant had a very nice breakfast, and if you go there for the end of day meal during Ramadan, it’s excellent.
Access to shops – B+ - not a very easy walk, but okay by taxi.
Rate – our rate was very reasonable for Turkey. Very good value, better than the Ritz.
